Sara Lock is the Marketing and Development Manager and Deputy Director at Salisbury Arts Centre and a Board Member of Dorchester Arts. She has a postgraduate diploma in Arts Management from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and has been working in arts marketing since 2006.
A self-confessed data geek with a passion for creativity, she believes arts marketing should be as imaginative as the work it represents.
Working in a multi-artform venue, Sara is interested in exploring innovative ways of encouraging audiences to explore different artforms. She’s particularly interested in the use of digital participation as a means of enhancing engagement.
Sara is also responsible for Fund Development at Salisbury Arts Centre and is currently leading a Catalyst fundraising Consortium with Disability Arts Online, The Point and Stopgap Dance Company. The consortium formed to investigate how arts organisations that are focused on accessibility and catering for audiences that are not typically affluent could approach fund development in a manner more appropriate to their audiences.
Sara is fascinated by the crossover of marketing and fund development, audiences and donors, and the different motivations and influences behind ticket buying and donating.
